Edward Patrick Lenihan Lifetime Tribute

Edward Patrick Lenihan

June 9, 1966 – January 16, 2025

Ed was born to James “Jim” and Anastasia “Ann” (nee Mooney) Lenihan on June 9, 1966 in the Bronx, New York. Ed attended Walter Panas High School in Cortlandt Manor, NY where he excelled both academically and socially. Ed played baseball and ran track and field; but, he loved playing on the football team the most. Ed developed lifelong friendships and loved his friends dearly.

Upon graduating high school, Ed went on to the University at Buffalo with an intent to major in pre-med, but instead, he pledged to Sigma Alpha Mu. Here, in this brotherhood, he again forged lifelong bonds. After college, Ed moved to Florida, where he met the love of his life while she was on vacation visiting her sister. In typical Ed fashion, he made the impossible long-distance relationship work, not only by marrying her, but also by getting that New Englander to move to the Sunshine State. Two years after their wedding came the event Ed deemed his greatest accomplishment, the birth of his daughter who he doted on and bragged over at every opportunity.

Ed was funny, kind, charismatic, gave great bear hugs, and was always the life of the party. He was always a shining light wherever he went with his warm and cheerful smile. He had a superpower which was making you best friends within minutes of meeting him. He loved pets of all kinds, but especially dogs, even though he was allergic to them. He loved traveling with his wife, but especially loved trips to Walt Disney World.

Ed held two bachelor’s degrees. He ended his career as an educator but had also been a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and Certified Firearms Examiner for the State of Florida.

Ed is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 25 years, Michelle R. (nee Skinner) Lenihan, his truly adored daughter, Shannon Eileen, as well as his parents, Jim and Ann Lenihan. He also leaves behind his brothers-in-law Paul Skinner and wife Leslie Little, John and wife Linda Skinner and Karl and wife Mitzi Skinner, as well sisters-in-law, Kathi with husband Michael Gage, and Mary Ellen and husband Bill Rossberg, and in addition all of their children. Ed was immensely proud of his Irish heritage and is survived by a large number of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins both here in the US and in the UK. Finally, Ed leaves behind his beloved fur babies, a fluffy brindle mastiff Ozzy (proudly, Ed would

declare “he’s 200 pounds”) and two cats, Princess and Smudge.
